kitchen aid? It is a snow day here in st. louis and I am wanting to make chocoloate chip cookies on the kitchen aid mixer. Does anyone have the instructions to make them or know where I can get them. Random_chick69 replied: "just go to a search engin like google, yahoo, altavista etc.. and look for it there!
goodluck
;-)"
ravenclaw515 replied: "You can use the kitchen aid for any cookie recipe; there's no specific way to make them with a kitchen aid. It's not like an Easy Bake Oven.
Take the recipe on the bag of chocolate chips. Use the paddle attachment on the butter and sugar. Mix until it's light and fluffy -- this is called "creaming." Then add the vanilla and the eggs one at a time while mixing. Sift all of the dry ingredients (flour, salt, soda) together, and then mix them into butter/sugar/eggs, still using the paddle attachment. Finally mix in chocolate, and WOW you just made cookie dough."
Scotch Pines replied: "type in ~~ marthastewart.com ~~ and you can see her on videos making chocolate chip cookies with a Kitchen Aid ... it is awesome! There are several videos .... the one around Christmas this last year gives different variations and a chocolate chip cookie cake ..... have fun...

Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
INGREDIENTS
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely" kitchen aid side by side freezer does not freeze and is making a clicking noise? kitchen aid superba refrigerator does not freeze , a clicking noise is coming from bottom of unit. No water in tray by the fan . what the problem? Dad T replied: "A clicking sound from the bottom sounds like the compressor is trying to start and what you are hearing is the relay. Chances are the compressor is hooped. Could be a weak start relay but not often. How old is the fridge?" Which Kitchen Aid attachment (paddle or whisk) do you use to make pie dough? According to the directions that came with my Kitchen Aid mixer, I should use the flat paddle to make my pie dough.
However, I have also read that the wire whisk cuts the shortening into the flour better.
I have always made my pie dough by hand, cutting the shortening into the flour with a pastry blender. But I want to try it with my mixer. Which attachment do you use? Do you reccommend the mixer over the old fashion method? sonnyboy replied: "I use the paddle. The dough gets too heavy for the whisk.
If you're making a lot of dough to freeze or whatever, the mixer is good.I have a recipe that makes dough for 6 pies at once that I use all the time so I always have pie crusts on hand.
Dough for one or two pies I would still do by hand."
Jessi replied: "Use the Paddle on your mixer- when the shortening isn't cut into the flour extremely well, you will have a nice flaky crust. Good Luck!"
chefgrille replied: "I use the paddle. The whisk will beat the shortening too much and you won't get a great flaky crust. You need those chunks of shortening to make it flaky."
Questing replied: "I'd just make it by hand."
mr danger replied: "I dunno I've never made pie dough in my KA mixer I've always used the processor and pulsed it. If you do use the mixer use the paddle and basically pulse the speed control because w/ a KA over mixing is a very real possibility..If you have the KA model where the bowl drops down you can quickly get your dough to safety before too much bad happens to it" Where can I buy a kitchen aid cookware set at affordable prices? I would like to have a kitchen aid cookware set of 17pc 7play cookware set stainless steel. Please suggest some reliable source. abbohill2000 replied: "Ever Heard of Department Store?"
Michael jones replied: "Get from this seller. He is new seller but have very low prices and good delivery.
" How much should I sell a 10 year old Kitchen Aid mixer for? My grandfather just moved into a senior care center and my mother and I are having an estate sale for him. The house is full of things including a 10 year old Kitchen Aid mixer. The mixer is in great condition with all of the accessories. He probably rarely used it. Suggestions for pricing? zelda has crabs replied: "$10-15 dollars if its 10years old. even though it was rarely used."
Shawn H replied: "Put it on eBay for .99 and see how much it goes for."
:-) replied: "you could get at least $75 to $100 for it, if its in great condition. those machines are solid, and are made to last a "lifetime" if properly maintained and not abused. Again..$75 to $100 if its in great shape. (new ones go for $300+)"
bejaap replied: "As you have all of the accessories I'd start at $75-100 but be prepared to drop. I paid $$220 for mine 4 years ago and didn't get accessories just the 1 bowl, paddle, dough hook and whisk. good luck."
Laura W replied: "i'd buy it off u for 50 bucks. but someone would prob pay more. i wanted to buy a new one but they r sooo expensive!"
kookcoo replied: "$10-$15 or you can see new mixer prices before decisions. Or" Anyone ever used the ice cream maker attachment on a Kitchen Aid? I am contemplating getting my best friend an ice cream maker attachment for his Kitchen Aid mixer for christmas. He is a food stylist, and I am sure he could use it. Anyone ever used one? Are they pretty simple with good results? miyazaki75 replied: "My sister has one and we did use it when I visited her. It was easy to use and the ice cream was excellent!"
Steve G replied: "Have not got one but it looks really good:"
Sugar PIe replied: "I wish I had one! It has a bowl that you freeze in your freezer, then add your ingredients and put it on the mixer to mix. Sorta like a Donvier ice cream maker, which I have and enjoy." Do you leave things on counter top like kitchen aid mixer or olive oil bottles? I was told that neat people do not leave kitchen aid mixers on the counter, but toaster oven is okay. Do you leave toaster ovens etc on your counter top or put every thing away after every use?
I ask because they come in decorative colors? lynn33 replied: "I put everything away because I don't have a lot of counter space. I think it is entirely up to you."
alex959er@yahoo.com replied: "Putting things away does help by giving some extra elbow-room but I tend to leave stuff lying about on work surfaces. I always tidy-up if I know I have visitors coming."
Star replied: "Leave what you want,it's your home."
chicagirl51 replied: "I only leave my toaster out. If you have alot of counterspace then keep them out if you use them alot. Or you could put the mixer on top of the fridge."
Mustanger replied: "We use the mixer so often that it would be wasted effort to put it away. My wife, instead, made a nice flower print cover for it. The coffee maker also sits there as does the rice cooker/warmer, the crockery set for flour, sugar, coffee, etc. and the kitchen knife set in it's wooden block. And when the grandkids are around and begging her for Mochi, the Mochi maker may sit there for days on end. We have a large kitchen and lots of counter space."
MavistheMaven replied: "Neat people do not clutter up their counters or leaves messes there. But that doesn't mean a counter has to be empty. Put whatever you want to put there. Usually, if you don't use something often and you have cabinet space for it, it might as well be out of sight. If you use it a lot or just like having it there, then keep it there as long as you still have workspace.
I usually keep glass jars of grains, beans and pasta on the counter, along with my toaster and food processor. Since I don't use the blender or juicer often, those stay in the cupboard. If I had more space, I might keep them out."
iknowthisisterrible replied: "I have a lot of counter space, but I only keep the microwave & coffee pot on the counter. I always have homemade chocolate chip cookies in the house, so they are on a nice cookie platter thing on the counter too. Otherwise, its empty. I totally subscribe to the "no clutter = clean" rule! But I also have a lot of cabinet space so I can hide all the stuff. It really is up to your own taste and space."
amberrr64 replied: "I have a mixer, a knife set, the microwave, and olive oil on the counter. Everything else comes out when I need it.
The mixer is too heavy to move, so I just leave it :)"
sweetpea replied: "When I staged my house to sell, we put everything away out of sight. It was such a pleasure to have the cleared counters, I've decided my new house will not have more than 1 or 2 things on it. At least until I get tired of hauling everything out all the time. Ha."
pissy_old_lady replied: "I leave my mixer and my coffee pot on the counter. Everything else is put away. The mixer is way too heavy to be lugging out every time I want to use it. My kitchen is tidy and this does not make it look bad." How long does it really take to knead Whole Wheat dough in a Kitchen Aid mixer? It seems to take an awful long time for my kitchen aid to mix whole wheat dough properly. The manual says its just a couple of minutes, but I knead for like 20, and the dough still is barely pliable. I don't want to add too much flour, too early, because I know that whole wheat breads absorb the flour more slowly. Does anyone make whole wheat breads in their kitch aid , and if so, what are your tips for getting the dough to the proper stage. for rising? Scorpion replied: "Only for a couple of minutes, or the dough will get sticky. And when sticky, you'll add flour, and the bread will be very heavy. What happen is: The longer you knead the dough in the machine, the water gets in the flour. If you only knead for a couple of minutes, the flour grains will not suck water, and the dough will be light and easy to knead with your hands..
Use the machine for a couple of minutes, then stop, and put some flour over the dough, then cover with a cloth, and let it rise
the first time. Then knead the dough for hands, cut in portions, and the set for 2nd.rise..then bake...
Here's my special trick: After baked, warm some water, take two table spoons of potato flour, a little water, and add to the warm water.. You''ll get a grey mass.. When breads are baked, use a brush and put the potato mass on, in very thin layers. You'll hear a crisp sound when adding the mass on the newly baked breads. The bread will get a soft crusp...
( a little problems with my english, hope you get it..)
John"
ijcoffin replied: "My wife uses her Kitchen Aid to start the bread all the time.
She does not use the dough hook, she mixes all the ingredients with the K.A. then she puts the dough into a large bowl and finishes it off by kneading it, adding flower as needed. She makes 9 or 10 loaves at a time. She uses a blend of whole wheat and white flower then adds poppy seed, walnuts, pine nuts and other goodies. She varies the added ingredients from batch to batch. delicious every time." are the kitchen aid food grinder attachments good enough to grind 200 lbs of venison every year? Other ideas? We "need" a new meat grinder because my husband doesn't like his home built model anymore even tho I told him to buy a bigger motor. We currently have a 1/3 horsepower motor on the thing. So he wants a new one. We usually process about 200 lbs of venison in one day after butchering deer. Is this way too much for a kitchen aid? I don't own a kitchen aid now, but I home bake a lot, so I'm not against getting one. And am I going to have to buy the top of the line?
Any advice on meat grinding would be great! Thanks! bailie28 replied: "http://www.pleasanthillgrain.com/meat_grinders_food.aspx
they have a pro model for 600 i know it sounds like a lot but a kitchen aid is around 3 and maybe more with all the attatchments you can get...owning many mixers and other appliances...i now own a kitchen aid..i wouldnt use it for that much meat..i think you would burn the motor up..this is a personal opinion though"
Historyman. replied: "I would certainly look at a industrial size unit. If it was me I would have a chat to my butcher to see what he would recommend. I might also see the hire service to see what they hire out, if they do." does this happen with your kitchen aid coffee pot? we have a kitchen aid coffee pot that is fairly new. when we make a pot of coffee it leaks from the hot plate. i was just wondering if any one had any input on this. it doesn't matter if you use the 4 cup setting or make 12 cups. it ends up all over the counter. Gene L replied: "It's not supposed to do that.
Water around an electrical appliance is dangerous and you could be in for the "shock" of a lifetime if you don't investigate to find out where the water is coming from.
Fairly new? take it back where you got it and exchange it.
Out of warranty or return date? UNPLUG IT....take off the cover(s) on the bottom or side and look for a hose that has become disconnected or loose.
DON'T USE IT ANYMORE....until you've resolved this issue."
♥HELLO♥ replied: "i would return or exchange it it is broke ....it should not leak at all..."
llittle mama replied: "I had a Mr. Coffee do that but only after I had overfilled the water tank and it flowed down into the hot plate, each time I made coffee it leaked from the hot plate;
It sounds like that is what happened with yours, if you bought it new maybe someones had done that before and then returned it to the store., or someone in your house did that and just did not say anything. Could the pot have a small crack in it?"
ZoomZoom replied: "Yes a friend of mine had one that did the same thing. Call the 800 number and they will tell you how to correct the problem or send you a new one. Whirlpool-kitchen aid is aware they have a problem with that coffee maker." |
